Tipi Camping

You can rent and stay in one of our fully furnished tipis on the Shoshone River bank, or near our fishing pond.

The tipis have charcoal ONLY grills, picnic tables, and a community firepit. There are new laundry facilities and clean bath / shower facilities near the office.

You can also catch trout in the fishing pond, or if you are staying in our lower tipis, and have a Wyoming fishing license, you can fish in the Shoshone River.

Note: These are canvas tipis, which means that the doors cannot be locked, there are holes in the top to allow airflow, and again, there is no Wi-Fi or running water at any of the tipis, and no electricity at the river tipis.

AMENITIES:

Renting a tipi from us eliminates the hassles of transporting a tent and bulky bedding, pitching a tent, lugging gear and all your food, sleeping on the hard, uneven and bumpy ground, and collecting firewood.

We have 8 tipis on the Shoshone River bank and 2 tipis near the fishing pond and bath house. The 2 tipis have a view of the Shoshone River and have an extension cord that runs to them. The 8 tipis by the Shoshone River unfortunately don’t have any electricity.

There are individual BBQ grills that you can use with charcoal. We ask that you do not use real firewood in the grills. Please feel free to use real firewood at the community fire pit.

Each tipi has a queen size bed, a futon that’s the size of a full mattress and a chair that will fold out to the size of a twin if you need it.

If you want to fish on the river, you’ll need to have a Wyoming fishing license and your own gear (lower tipi guests only). If you want to fish in our pond, we have gear that you can use.

**Please note that there is no food, fridge, or cooking utensils provided. You are encouraged to bring your own food, cooler/ice, and there is a microwave available for your use in our community coffee lounge. Also, the river tipis are about 1/2 mile drive from the office and the road does get steep on the way down to the tipis.

CHECK IN:

Check in for the tipis will be from 2pm to 8pm. Check out is at 11am and we do clean each tipi after check out, so any missing/damaged items will be your responsibility and you will be charged. Book online at https://www.airbnb.com or give us a call! We advise booking early as tipis do fill up during the busy months. Payment in full is required for the tipi bookings at the time of reservation.

PETS:

We are pet friendly. Please disclose that you are bringing your pet when making your reservation as we will require credit card information before they can stay with you for incidentals in case there is any damage caused to the tipi or its furnishings. There will be a pet cleaning fee of $25 if there is extra cleaning required from your pet shedding. Pets must be leashed and can not be left unattended in the Tipis.

FISHING ON THE PROPERTY:

Fishing in our pond is permitted without state license but any fishing in the Shoshone River will require the purchase of a state day use fishing license. Fishing for our guests is open during office hours. Fishing poles and bait are provided for guests who want to fish in our pond. Generally we practice catch and release but should you decide to keep one, shorter than 16″ are $5 a fish and 16″ or longer are $7 a fish.

We need to point out, while we have our own little pond and the Shoshone river available for fishing, we are also have a trout hatchery right in the heart of the camping areas. You need to be aware, if you fish in any of these ponds, they will fine you and you’ll end up getting kicked out. It is their business after all.

NON-Guest Visitors are NOT allowed to Fish for Trout.
